![]() However, IMO, I think that if you want to level your Tank, you gotta do Tanking things. ![]() ![]() This still does not give you variety though, like you want. If we just removed standard levels and went to a straight iLvl system, it would be ideal, IMO. You then need to work on your iLvl, which is it's own leveling system. It's not like once you reach 60 you are done leveling. As it is we already have 2 entirely separate "leveling" systems. Perhaps my solution isn't perfect, but having multiple ways to level would definitely help dismiss the tedium. My idea for an ideal MMO would actually just remove the level system entirely. How many times can we do fetch/kill quests before they drive us insane? I feel like I'm reaching that point pretty soon as it is. Either way some MMO has to break the mold eventually. Proving Grounds-like system, only better, is a solution at least. ![]() Only play with my guild/FC, which is pretty bad for the community really. If it was much worse than it currently is I would go back to doing what I did in WoW and Rift. After 10 attempts I finally left, logged out for a bit, came back and one shot it with the next group. I have to deal with that enough as it is getting through the main story, like my group that wiped 10 times on Bismark because we just did not have enough DPS due to people not playing right or getting knocked off. Your only real option when you have a few bads in your group is either sit there and slug it out, taking 10 times longer than it should or abandoning yourself and having to deal with a 30 min lockout. It's true, you already have people that do not understand their job, but can you imagine how many more there would be if there were ways to level that required no combat at all? Especially considering that if you get one of those people in your group you can not kick them for fear of them reporting you and getting banned yourself. But as far as Main Job, I feel there is enough. I mean, you have your Hunt Log, Dungeons and FATEs and that's about it. I wouldn't personally care if someone got to level 50 with FATEs, market board or the Gold Saucer though as long as they do their job right.Yes, there is little variety in alt jobs. If that's a concern, though, introduce a Proving Grounds-like system. You're going to have people who aren't good at their job no matter what. It becomes either FATE grinding or dungeon grinding, no in-between. Side quests as well are gone when you level another job. What we have now is not enough variety and isn't particularly interesting. I guess it would be kinda nice if some of the other activities you mentioned provided XP, however, the issue i see with that is that if you get someone who leveled up entirely via mini-games or Market Board stuff, would you want them in you max level duty finder group? You would literally have people at max level with not a clue how to play their job or what half their abilities do, if they even unlocked half their abilities because they did not need them to level up. You can choose whether to do side quests, grind FATEs or use Duty Finder. I dunno, basically just a variety of other activities to progress your character.Ok, so you mean like how it is now? We already have a variety. Or EXP for exploration (a la GW2 jump puzzles). And maybe EXP for things related to an Auction House (or your retainer). And perhaps EXP from mini-games (like the Gold Saucer). Such as hunts, similar to the current FFXIV system, where you can take contracts to hunt monsters. My answer would be to have main story content to go through, which is just the story parts, then have a variety of interesting activities to do in-between.
